Who fixes potholes in New Zealand?

Tier 2 — Permanent Patch · from NZ$700
Hot-mix asphalt, cut-and-fill, compacted to standard. 8-12 years of life under normal residential or commercial traffic. Right for isolated failures on an otherwise sound surface — most pothole jobs land here.
Tier 3 — Full Relay · from NZ$5,000
Mill the existing surface, lay fresh asphalt. 15-20 years of life. Right when more than 30% of the surface is failing or the base needs attention.
Carparks ≥10m² are priced separately at NZ$160-180/m² with a site visit. Driveways and small jobs always get a photo quote.
Cold-mix vs hot-mix — which one do you need?
Hot-mix lasts longer (8-12 years vs 6-12 months) but needs dry conditions, 8-10°C ambient minimum, and a 48-hour booking window. Cold-mix patches in light rain, in winter, at short notice — but rebuilds within a year unless it's a low-traffic surface.

Six factors actually move the number: spot count (1 / 2-4 / 5-10 / 10+), depth (shallow <5cm / medium 5-15cm / deep >15cm), water pooling, surface (asphalt / chipseal / concrete — we refer concrete out), access (gate codes, after-hours, traffic management), and timing (standard 48h / urgent same-day / overnight). Everything else — neighbourhood, customer type, day of the week — is the same price.

How long does the repair take on site?
Tier 1 Quick Fix: 20-30 minutes per patch. Tier 2 Permanent Patch: 60-90 minutes per patch. Tier 3 Full Relay: half-day to a day depending on size.
Do I need to be on site?
No. As long as the crew can access the area and we have your photos plus scope confirmation, you don't need to be there.
What about heavy rain?
Cold-mix patches go in. Hot-mix patches don't. We re-schedule the hot-mix job to the next dry day — no charge for the reschedule.
Is the warranty national or just Auckland?
National. Same 12-month workmanship warranty whether we did the job direct or via the approved-partner network. Rapidpatch holds the warranty in our name.
