Materials we'll use for emergency repairs

Polymer-modified cold-mix (EZ Street, Cemix Bitupatch, UPM or QPR) is the default for same-day jobs because it takes traffic within an hour of compaction. Hot-mix asphalt (AC10 to NZTA spec) is used when there's a 4-hour cure window available — typically overnight at retail or commercial sites. Standard bagged cold-mix is reserved for time-critical liability patches that will be replaced by permanent work within 14 days; we'll tell you when that's what we're recommending.

Outside Auckland, the regional partner has to confirm availability, so 24-48 hours is the realistic SLA — emergency same-night is exceptional in the partner-network regions.

What's the difference between same-day and same-night?

Same-day = work starts before 6pm on the day of quote, polymer-modified cold-mix, $250 surcharge. Same-night = work starts after 10pm and finishes before 6am, can use HMA where cure time allows, $250 emergency + $250 overnight surcharge. Same-night is the right call for retail and QSR sites that can't accommodate daytime visible work.

Is the warranty different for emergency repairs?

No — same 12-month workmanship warranty on emergency permanent repairs (HMA or polymer-modified cold-mix). Standard bagged cold-mix temporary patches are NOT warranted for permanence; we issue them with an explicit 30-day life-expectancy note and book the permanent repair into the schedule at the same time.

Do you need access to electricity or water?

No. Our truck carries everything required: hot-box (for HMA), compaction plate, tools, cones and signage. We need vehicle access to within 20m of the defect and the address. Nothing else.

Will you fix a pothole on the road outside my house tonight?

Council and NZTA fix legal-road potholes for free. We only work on private property — driveways, body-corp carparks, commercial yards, school grounds, forecourts.
